Recently, six ministries including the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "Three-Year Doubling Action Plan for EV Charging Facility Service Capacity (2025-2027)". By the end of 2027, 28 million charging facilities will be built nationwide, providing over 300 million kilowatts of public charging capacity to meet the needs of more than 80 million EVs, realizing a doubling of charging service capacity.

The global expansion of charging facilities is no longer an "option" but a "must-do" for China's NEV industry to build global competitiveness. The path from "product export" to "standard export" and then to "ecosystem export" has become the inevitable route for China's charging infrastructure industry to break through globally.

17.348 million! A year-on-year increase of 53.5%... On September 18th, the National Energy Administration announced that as of late August 2025, China's EV charging infrastructure (ports) continued to grow. Among them, public charging facilities (ports) stood at 4.316 million (up 37.8% YoY) with a total rated power of 196 million kilowatts and an average power of approximately 45.48 kilowatts; private charging facilities (ports) reached 13.032 million.

As of the end of August 2025, China has built the world's most extensive and leading EV charging infrastructure network. The total number of charging facilities nationwide reached 17.348 million, with 2 charging piles for every 5 NEVs on average, maintaining the global leading scale.

Previously, the vast majority of DC fast charging stations were centralized facilities located at key urban and transportation hubs, which have high requirements for site selection and power capacity. Due to the current state of lithium-ion battery technology, the time required for short-duration DC fast charging (to full capacity) still cannot match the refueling speed of gasoline-powered vehicles, especially for regular passenger cars.

Boasting a charging efficiency of nearly "1 kilometer per second", covering over 3,900 square meters with 130 charging parking spaces, a new all-liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging station recently put into operation at Quanhu Park in Baiyun District, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, has attracted public attention.
